PrimeLife follow-up project ABC4Trust launched

Anonymous credentials have been a major area of research within PrimeLife. PrimeLife considers this technology to be a key enabler for privacy-respecting identity management solutions. Therefore, we are happy that parts of the PrimeLife work will be continued by the Project “Attribute Based Credentials for Trust” (ABC4Trust) under the lead of Goethe University Frankfurt and participation of the PrimeLife partners IBM, Microsoft and ULD. ABC4Trust brings together the two leading implementations of credentials – IBM’s Identity Mixer and Microsoft’s U-Prove – and addresses the challenge of interoperability between these solutions.
Test Pilots will be launched in a secondary school in Söderhamn, Sweden, and at Patras University, Greece.
ABC4Trust has been formally announced with a press release on European Privacy Day 2011.
