W3C hosts Workshop on the Future of Social Networking

PrimeLife partner W3C hosted a Workshop on the Future of Social Networking from 15 to 16 January 2009 in Barcelona. The high level goal of the workshop was bringing together the world experts on social networking design, management and operation in a neutral and objective environment.

Discussions on the workshop were initiated and supported by 72  position papers, two of which were submitted by PrimeLife partners: W3C's Rigo Wenning and Ivan Herman presented a paper on "Semantic enhancements for social networks" and University of Tilburg's Martin Pekárek and Ronald Leenes focused on "Privacy and Social Network Sites: Follow the Money!".

Topics discussed at the workshop range from an appropriate architechture for social networks to adapted user experiences and context and communities.
