Conference LogoSocial networking has transformed the Web. However, most Social Web applications today limit relationships to those with accounts in the same system. People want a seamless integration without barriers between service providers and applications used as is known from other forms of communication form such as telephone or e-mail. To explore the interoperability needed, the PrimeLife project supports the efforts of the Word Wide Web consortium (W3C) in organizing the Federated Social Web Europe Conference to take place June 3-5, 2011 in Berlin. The conference is hosted by the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung. It follows the 2010 Federated Social Web Summit and is designed to bring together diverse communities interested in Social Web, identity, and privacy. The agenda will include talks, presentation of position papers, and opportunities for on-the-ground agenda building.
